Volkl's Kenja has built up a big fan base over the years amongst women skiers wanting a strong solid ski for long fast charging on predominantly hard snow.
With a new 129-88-113 mm shape, the Kenja keeps the same tip and waist dimensions but gains 2mm at the tail resulting in a ski with a slightly shorter turning radius.
Like the previous model, the 2024 Kenja 88 has a titanal frame, carbon tips and full sidewalls but Volkl has upgraded both these technologies to produce a more versatile ski that performs exceptionally in a wider range of snow conditions.

The new Kenja features Volkl's Tailored Titanal Frame technology. A thin titanal sheet in the binding area of the ski is paired with a thicker titanal frame that extends around the perimeter of the ski's tip and tail.
In contrast to the previous design, the width of the titanal frame is now adapted exactly to each individual ski length.
The Tailored Titanal Frames are positioned above the sidewall along the tip and tail area of the ski to provide the desired damping and torsional stiffness.
The size of the frames is tailored to the skier's height and power, so longer ski models have a higher titanal content for more stiffness, more direct power transmission and stronger dampening.
The shorter the length, the lower the titanal content, which makes the ski more agile, so that smaller, lighter and less powerful skiers can use the full potential performance of the ski.
Tailored Titanal Frame technology provides an incomparable combination of agility and high speed control.

The new Kenja also benefits from Volkl's Tailored Carbon Tip technology, introduced last winter on the M6 Mantra. In this innovative manufacturing process the new Tailored Carbon Tips are produced by embroidering the individual carbon fibers onto a carrier material.
This technology allows Volkl to position the carbon fibres exactly on the stress lines to minutely tune the directional stiffness and torsional resistance, so that the fibres guide the dynamics of the ski.
This technology allows Volkl to reduce tip weight and precisely define the reaction of the tip to achieve a new level of precision, control and active skiing pleasure.

The Kenja 88 has a multilayer woodcore using a mix of beech and poplar.
The binding mounting area uses hard wood to avoid binding pull-out.
The Kenja 88 has a sintered high-density and high molecular P-Tex 2100 polyethylene base with great gliding characteristics and high durability.

The Kenja 88 is made for carving precise turns and benefits from Volkl's 3 Radius Sidecut.
A long Tip & Tail Radius for big turns and high speed combines easy steering with the tip resistant to disruption for a stable ride, and easy turn exiting.
Crank the ski onto an edge and the shorter radius in the ski centre kicks in, carving shorter turns with easy turn initiation, agility and effortlessly linking turn after turn.

The use of these new technologies has given the 2024 Kenja a smoother and more versatile character, with the tip providing more deformation which makes these skis more inuitive and less demanding, with higher performance in soft snow, powder and crud
Much easier in all snow conditions than the previous model but as efficient on the edge, we really enjoyed the new Kenja 88's combination of performance and playfulness and are sure that you will too.
