DPS introduce a new range of Freeride skis this winter. The DPS Kaizen series, named after the Japanese word for "continuous improvement" has three models, the Kaizen 100, Kaizen 105 and Kaizen 112.

The powder ski in this series, the Kaizen 112 is the next evolution of the highly awarded RP (Resort Powder) shape that has made powder skiing easier and more fun for thousands of skiers around the world. The 15m turn radius makes for a maneuverable ski that can pivot immediately. The long tip rocker and taper give exceptional float, and complement the turn radius, so even powder turns in tight trees are a breeze. The Kaizen 112 features a lowered tail rocker profile, which increases edge engagement on firm snow and gives an improved feeling of popping energetically out of the turn. To top it all off, the Kaizen construction creates a more stable and damp ski, so you can trust it in all conditions.

The Kaizen 112 has an unusually thin profile thanks to the innovative core design. While most wood core skis have vertically aligned wooded strips, the Kaizen 112 has a dual wood core aligned horizontally, one layer below the other. This "Split Core" design has a lower layer of ash matched with an upper layer of poplar, with the core then sandwiched between two layers of carbon fibre. With this design DPS have produced a core that provides both shock absorption and a snappy flex, with a lower weight than is possible using titanal laminates. The carbon fiber was developed using methods from DPS's Pagoda Tour line and is designed to optimize energy. With DPS's damper core of ash and poplar, it’s a harmonious interaction that creates better skis now.
