K2 have upgraded their Wayback and Talkback touring series skis for 2025, with new construction, sidecuts and flex profiles. The result of rigorous testing by K2's athletes and ski touring guides, these new skis redefine the standard for lightweight high-performance touring. The Wayback 98 replaces the very popular Wayback 96, gaining 2 mm underfoot while the tip and tail are slightly narrower (126-98-114 mm vs 128-96-115 mm). Built with a brand new construction, the Wayback 98 has a light yet strong Paulownia wood core and K2's Titanal Touring laminates as also used on their freeride skis, creating the a supremely versatile touring ski. The Wayback 98 supplies all the edge grip, stability and downhill performance you come to expect from a ski with metal, yet weighs in at only 2.78 kg a pair (179cm). Light enough for comfortable multi-day hut tours, the Wayback 98 provides the performance and precision for skiing steep slopes. An excellent modern all round touring ski.
