Atomic

Atomic-Logo-18%24_0.png

Atomic was founded in 1955 by Alois Rohrmoser and is based in the Austrian Alps. After starting with hand-carved skis, Atomic rapidly expanded and pioneered many of the design improvements and technical innovations that are now used by all brands. Atomic was the first company to produce skis, boots, bindings, and poles under one name.
Atomic are reknowned for producing skis with an excellent quality of construction and manufacture skis for several other brands, including Armada, Salomon, Volant and most Black Crows skis.
While Atomic produce skis for every discipline, from world cup alpine skis to children's skis, we particularly like the Bent freeride skis, the Backland touring models and the Maverick all mountain series.

Atomic Freeride Skis.
Atomic's Bent freeride skis are named after professional freeski skier Chris Benchetler, whose nickname is "Bent Chetler." Chris has had a close collaboration with Atomic for over 14 years, playing a key role in the design, artistic direction, and R&D of each ski in the Bent line. These skis offer excellent versatility with a playful character for skiing offpiste and in powder, featuring Atomic's innovations such as the  "Horizon Tech" tips, inspired by the 3D profile of a surfboard. The name "Bent" reflects the spirit of freedom and creativity in freeskiing, embodied by Benchetler and the surf- and art-inspired influences behind these skis.

Atomic Backland Skis.
The Backland skis are built for ski touring. Key characteristics include a lightweight wood core (often with carbon reinforcements), optimized for uphill efficiency without sacrificing downhill performance. They use less sidecut for better skinning and are compatible with tech bindings used in ski touring.
Atomic offer a wide range of touring skis, from the narrow ultralight Backland 65 UL skimo race ski, classic touring skis with 80, 85, 86, 88, 89 and 95 mm underfoot to powder touring skis with 102 or 109 mm at the waist. You can't accuse Atomic of not offering a choice !!
Atomic's Backland skis feature advanced designs and are built with materials that reduce the manufacturing carbon footprint by up to 30% compared with older models.

Atomic Maverick / Maven All Mountain Skis.
Atomic's Maverick/Maven series are all-mountain and freeride skis designed for intermediate to expert skiers.
Built with lightweight poplar wood cores combined with reinforcements such as carbon or titanal for strength and agility, these skis have an all-mountain rocker profile with classic camber underfoot for precise edge grip and smooth maneuverability on varied terrain. These skis typically feature Atomic's Flow Profile technology, which optimizes the ski's flex and turning behaviour.
The Maverick series offers a range of widths making them versatile for both on-piste and off-piste skiing. The construction and materials provide a balance of performance, precision, and ease of use, suitable for all-mountain skiing on and offpiste.
