Armada is an American ski and accessories brand founded in 2002 by a group of renowned professional skiers (Tanner Hall, JP Auclair, JF Cusson, Julien Regnier, Boyd Easley) and photographer Chris O'Connell. It has established itself as one of the first ski brands (along with Line) created by riders to meet the real needs of freestyle and freeride enthusiasts, with the aim of revolutionizing modern skiing, developing models adapted to new generations, and breaking away from the conservative offerings of the major ski brands.
From the outset, Armada has attracted attention with its avant-garde approach, offering its first two freestyle models, the ARV and the AR5, thanks in part to the direct involvement of its founders in the design and development of the skis. Over the years, the brand has diversified, expanding its range to more than twenty models designed for freestyle, freeride, and all-mountain skiing, while maintaining a strong, innovative identity and an artistic dimension marked by original graphics and offbeat marketing.
The headquarters was relocated in 2014 from California to Park City, Utah, to strengthen its presence in a region central to North American skiing. Armada has continued to rely on the involvement of its athletes to evolve its products (notably with the dedicated Zero series) and maintain a close relationship with the skiing community. In 2017, Armada was acquired by the Finnish group Amer Sports, joining other major outdoor brands such as Salomon and Atomic, while maintaining its pioneering spirit, commitment to innovation, and core image.
Armada remains a global reference today, acclaimed for its flagship models such as the ARV for freestyle, the Tracer range (now Locator) for freerando, and Declivity for all-mountain, not to mention its clothing and accessories line. The brand, distributed in over 200 countries, continues to embody the passion for skiing in its most modern and creative form.
