Neil and Rosie started Telemark Pyrenees back in 1995 to share their love for the mountains and their passion for backcountry skiing. They set up shop at the base of the Ax-Bonascre ski resort in South France—a place that still inspires them every single day.
With backgrounds that aren't what you'd expect for ski shop owners, Rosie studied and worked in geology and Petroleum Engineering, and Neil studied and worked as a Chemical Engineer. But their hearts have always been in the mountains. From the start, they wanted to create something that connected them with others who felt the same way about skiing and the outdoors.
"In 1998, we built a simple webpage to keep our faraway friends updated about our shop. What started as a small, personal project unexpectedly opened up a whole new world for us. A few months later, we received an order all the way from New York—our very first international customer! That was a huge moment for us. Soon after, another order came in from Turkey, and we realized the internet had the power to bring people like us together from all corners of the globe.
By 2001, we launched our first online store, built with tools like Microsoft FrontPage. It was far from fancy, but it worked! Orders began pouring in, and our little shop grew beyond anything we’d imagined. To keep up, we hired seasonal help, set up a dedicated email server to manage all the inquiries, and streamlined our processes.
As we’ve grown, one thing has never changed: our commitment to the mountains, our sport, and our customers. Protecting the environment we love is at the heart of everything we do. Whether it’s by promoting sustainable gear or minimizing our impact, we’re dedicated to preserving these beautiful places for future generations.
Today, Telemark-Pyrenees ships high-end products to adventurers all over the world. From October to March, we’re buzzing with activity, supported by an amazing team who share our passion. We’ve also expanded our range to include specialized gear for ski touring, climbing, and mountaineering—everything you need to explore the outdoors responsibly and confidently.
We’re proud to be a trusted destination for backcountry adventurers and telemark enthusiasts. Our secret? We genuinely care. Whether it’s helping you find the perfect piece of gear or offering after-sales support, we’re here for you every step of the way.
Thank you for being part of our journey and for helping us keep the mountains alive and thriving.

At 30 minutes drive is the famous Andorrean ski resort of Pas de la Casa (Gran Valira domain). Near by are the eccellent nordic ski resorts of Plateau de Beille, also finish line for several Tours de France.
Ax-Les-Thermes is well known for its sulphurous hot springs (25 to 78 °C), of which there are about sixty. The waters, which were used by the Romans, are claimed to treat rheumatism, skin diseases, and other maladies. More info: http://www.vallees-ax.com/accueil.aspx.
