La Sportiva Kilo XTR 

The big brother to La Sportiva's Kilo boots which proved their worth last winter, the Kilo XTR is stiffer and more downhill orientated while weighing in at only 2,34 kg a pair (size 26.5 MP).
Lightweight yet stiff, La Sportiva recommend the Kilo XTR for touring skis up to 100 mm underfoot which means, let's be honest, includes most true touring skis.

The Kilo XTR's shell and cuff are made of Grilamid Bio Based LF Carbon, a material rich in castor fibers to preserve stiffness over the temperature range encountered in the mountains. La Sportiva have used Pebax Renew for the tongue, which supplys the powerful progressive flex going into the turn they call the Force Flex System. Carbon reinforcement in the cuff provides additional rigidity for downhill control. Modern touring boots offer a large amplitude of cuff rotation for efficient climbing, and the Kilo XTR doesn't disappoint here with 68°, providing unrestricted striding uphill.

La Sportiva have given the Kilo XTR two robust, micro-adjustable buckles plus a power strap provide secure closure and customizable fit - no sign of the almost ubiquitous Boa system here!!
These boots feature a glove-friendly Tilt-Lock Lite ski/walk mechanism for smooth transitions. The Kilo XTR has a high-density Ultralon liner, fully thermoformable for a precise, warm fit and the WarmSole Platform footbed separates the foot from the base of the shell to ensure good insulation in cold environments. The Kilo XTR is compatible with tech/insert bindings and has La Sportiva's S4 toe inserts for easy step-in. The dual-compound FriXion Wave Alpine XTR sole provides maximum grip on rocks and snow, as well as impact absorption and prevents snow accumulation underfoot.

With the Kilo XTR La Sportiva have produced a boot that benefits from the design of the lighter Kilo with increased downhill performance while still having a very respectable weight of 2,34 kg a pair. A good modern AT boot, the Kilo XTRs are perfect for skis up to 00mm underfoot and are ready for unlimited exploring.
