Atomic's Backland 85 W offers an excellent combination of efficient uphill touring ability with improved downhill performance.
The Backland 85 W stays unchanged for this season apart from topsheet graphics, after having been updated last winter with a new construction and 120-85.5-108 mm sidecut resulting in a slightly shorter 16.2 m turning radius.

Environmental impact is an ever more important consideration, and the Backland 85 W has a locally sourced poplar wood core, new waste-reducing sidewalls and reduced amounts of fibreglass and resin, resulting in 30% lower carbon emissions compared to the previous iteration.
These skis weigh in at only 2.5 kg / pair (157 cm) to provide efficient uphill progress in all snow conditions.

The All-Terrain Profile construction uses a new poplar-wood-to-fiberglass ratio, adding torsional stiffness and an enhanced flex pattern for improved stability on harder snow surfaces.
Atomic's innovative HRZN tip design has been updated and is now called HRZN 3D, with the broad three-dimensional tip providing maximum flotation in soft snow conditions, and even easier turn initiation for intuitive effortless descents.The Atomic Backland 85 W is excellent value for money and combines easy accesibility for touring neophytes and the performance that experienced skiers demand.
