Scarpa have used Carbon Grilamid® LFT for the shell and cuff. This carbon-reinforced polymer is extremely light yet durable, stiff and strong.
The cuff of the Alien 1.0 is hand-laid using a carbon fiber polymer that is unbelieveably light yet stiff for efficient power transfer when skiing.
The Speed Lock Lite ski-walk mechanism is integrated with the cuff closure via a Dyneema® cord, for quick, single-action transitions.
With a massive 75° cuff rotation the Scarpa Alien 1.0 offers natural stride comfort with minimal friction, letting you gain altitude as fast as possible.
The floating BOA® closure system ensures quick, easy and durable closure around the foot and is protected by a reinforced gaiter that keeps snow out.
The Alien 1.0 has Dynafit's Quick Step-In toe inserts which help guide the boot into the inserts, saving time when every second counts.
The Vibram UFO outsole ensures stability and grip when you need to shoulder your skis and on those mandatory boot pack sections.

The cuff is closed by a single action Dyneema® cord interfacing with the ski/walk mechanism to speed transitions.
