Nordica

Nordica

Founded in 1935 and based in Treviso in the Veneto region, Nordica is an Italian manufacturer of ski boots and skis and is a subsidiary of the Tecnica group, which also includes Blizzard. Over the years, Nordica has made important technical advances in the development of ski boots. Initially Nordica manufactured casual shoes and cross-country ski and climbing boots. After the second world war Nordica specialised in ski boots, work was still seasonal and the equipment manual. In 1950 Zeno Colò gave his name to a Nordica ski boot and to a revolutionary lining designed by Colmar. Zeno became World Champion with Nordica both in the downhill and the giant slalom of the 1950 World Championships in Aspen, Colorado and gave his name to a ski boot made by the company in Trevignano. The 1960s witnessed radical developments with the introduction of plastic ski boots using polyurethane shells made from specific moulds. By 1970 the company manufactured over two million pairs of ski boots a year, representing 30% of world production. Nordica boots provide the skier the innovation, performance and comfort they are looking for. The company builds and designs the highest quality, best performing skiing boots. In 2003, the company was bought by Tecnica and the company concentrated on racing and competition models. In 2005  Nordica celebrated 70 years of performance and passion; an important goal reached thanks to a great international team work, racing and freeski athletes and testman suggestions and of course high quality products that, all over these years, confirmed the high level of Nordica brand. Nordica have recently developed freerando and touring models and at Telemark Pyrenees we stock the excellent freerando touring boot the Nordica Strider 130 Pro Dyn AT ski boot.
