The Plum R140 has been completely redesigned for 2026. Step-in is now easier thanks to Plum’s “intuitive” toe design and the toe lever is quick to lock and unlock thanks to the roller mechanism. Plum’s race ski brakes and crampon slots are available as options, but you cannot use both at the same time.
The R140 is exactly the same as the R130, except that it has a steel "U" spring rather than the lighter titanium. The R140 therefore weighs 10 g more per ski. The steel "U" spring is more resistant and longer lsting than the titanium, and the R140 is slightly cheaper.

The heel unit does not have any boot sole adjustment and in climb mode has a choice of two positions, flat or with 36 mm heel lift.  Lateral and forward release are fixed at 8 DIN and are not adjustable.

The R140 is designed for skis up to 80 mm wide at the waist and for skiers weighing 35-70 kg. The R140 is a good choice for skimo competitors looking for a compromise between safety and lightness. Made from solid 7075 aluminium with reinforced toe inserts, the 2026 Plum R140 has a 5 year guarantee, a sign that Plum knows how to make bindings that last.
