The Superguides have always offered superior downhill performance for touring skis, offering reliable grip on hard snow and good stability in changeable snow conditions even at speed. Impressive for a touring ski, one has the impression of having an alpine ski underfoot during the descent. With an "All Mountain" 125-88-110 mm sidecut the Superguide 88 has enough width to enjoy powder conditions, thanks to the tip planing well. With a weight of 2.68 kg / pair (178 cm), the Superguide 88 is not the very lightest in it's class, but more than light enough for long adventures into the backcountry. In chopped up crud and crust a good technique will help, as is often the case with touring skis, but overall the Superguide 88 offers surprisingly good downhill performance.
The unique construction combines an ultralight Paulownia core with hardwood Beech stringers for a stable yet lively ride. Add in Carbon/Aramid fibres and a precise 3Dimension Touring Sidecut, and the result is a lightweight package that’s surprisingly quick and reliable on the way up and won’t let you down on that hard-earned descent. The Superguide 88 has it all: a ski that’s reasonably light for the way up and that comes into its own on the way down.
