Here at Telemark Pyrenees we consider the Navis Freebird from Black Crows a standard for what a good all mountain free-touring ski should be. Unchanged for 2025, the Navis Freebird offers a very useful balance of flotation and skiability, alpine feel and progressive front rocker and is built for both long distance and everyday quests. Available in four lengths 167, 173, 179 and 185 cm, the Navis Freebird has a solid paulownia / poplar core, a good dose of fiberglass plus a titanal plate to ensure that bindings will not pull out deep in the backcountry. The Navis Freebird has not undergone the weight reduction seen on the Camox Freebird and remains a high performance ski.
A serious mountain ski for tourers, the Navis Freebird will please experienced skiers looking for good downhill performance, while remaining light enough to go far into the backcountry.
