Unchanged for this winter, the Atomic Backland 85 W is a lightweight all-round touring ski designed for women ski tourers. The Backland 85 W is built with Atomic's featherlight Ultra Light Woodcore construction, keeping the ski super light and easy to maneuver during uphill climbs. Further reducing weight, our Carbon Backbone runs the length of the ski like a backbone, providing exceptional agility and stable edge grip on the descent. Specifically shaped underfoot to allow for easier movement during climbing, especially on longer traverses, the All Mountain Rocker profile and HRZN Tech in the tip allow the ski to float in fresh snow and charge through chop and crud with less tip deflection.

Ultra Light Woodcore
Made from poplar and caruba to minimize weight, the ultra light woodcore is designed for long days in the backcountry.
Carbon Backbone
An ultra-lightweight carbon insert that runs the length of the ski like a stabilizing backbone. This provides exceptional agility and edge hold with no extra weight.
HRZN Tech Tip
Atomic's HRZN Tech construction combines an ANS Sidewall combined with their revolutionary Rocker and increases the surface of the ski by 10%.
This gives increased lift, reduced tip deformation and efficient behavior in tracked out snow and crud.

All Mountain Rocker 15/85/0
The short rockered tip makes turn initiations quicker and improves float in deep snow, while the central 85% section has traditional camber supplying reliable grip. No tail rocker.
