With the F1 Scarpa have created a whole new lightweight touring performance ski boot category, which has helped revolutionise ski touring.
Before the F1, ski tourers had to choose between skimo race boots which offered minimal support and warmth, and three or four buckle boots that were considerably heavier and less efficient when climbing.
The F1 was the first boot to combine the uphill advantages of a race boot with a decent level of downhill control, the first boot to mix design elements of an Alien race boot and a Maestrale.
Weighing in at only 2.5 kg a pair (size 27 MP) the Scarpa F1 remains the most advanced design in it's class.

The Scarpa F1 is the standard-setting benchmark for lightweight touring performance, with a responsive, laterally stiff design that offers an incredible 62° cuff mobility in walk mode.
The F1 shell features a carbon core arch insert that adds significant strength and rigidity as well as torsional resistance to the boot.
It wraps under the arch and up both sides of the boot, reinforcing the cuff interface and interconnecting the cuff and shell. This increases power transmission to the skis without adding weight.
Boot closure is achieved by a combination of the featherweight Boa Fit System that closes the shell precisely and evenly, a single buckle on the cuff plus the velcro Power Strap.
The patented Boa® Fit System consists of three integral parts: a micro-adjustable dial, super-strong lightweight laces, and low friction lace guides.
The result is fast, precise boot closure without pinch-points or hard-to-lever buckles, better control and comfort..
