Scarpa 4-Quattro XT - Ocean Blue

The 4-QUATTRO XT is a light weight yet powerful ski boot, compatible with GripWalk bindings for both downhill skiing and ski touring. Sensitivity, precision and sustainability come together in the 4-QUATTRO XT to make it the perfect all-day boot, both on and off piste. A low stand height and flex index of 130 provide incredible impulse transmission and performance, making this boot ideal for expert skiers.

Scarpa 4-Quattro XT Features:

Construction: the new alpine axial hybrid construction consists of a tongue and strap combination connected on the medial side of the shell, which provides a precise fit at the midfoot and the ball of the foot, and accommodates a wide variety of foot types and sizes. This construction allows for the fit and precision of a classic overlap ski boot construction, while allowing easier entry into the boot, and also enables excellent transmission of impulses when turning and unparalleled control.

Sole: the presa® ski-01 sole has an ergonomic design that guarantees excellent grip when walking, and is compatible with gripwalk certified downhill or ski touring bindings.

Sustainability: the shell and cuff are made from grilamid bio, produced from renewable, plant-based sources. The shell contains an over-injected carbon insert which improves impulse transmission to the skis, giving greater precision. The power strap features booster technology for enhanced power with reduced pressure on the shin and progressive impulse transmission. In addition, it is pvc-free and features an integrated recco® device for added security.

Axial alpine hybrid
The new alpine axial hybrid closure system is specially designed for hybrid boots that can be used for both on-piste and off-piste skiing. Thanks to the straps installed on the tongue and linked at the mid-point of the shell, it provides a snug fit at the forefoot, as well as ensuring a precise fit for all kinds and sizes of feet, as with the classic overlapping ski boot construction.

Recco

Recco technology, applied by scarpa on ski mountaineering and telemark boots, makes you searchable to professional rescuers in the event of an avalanche accident. First introduced in 1983, the technology was developed by magnus granhed with the cooperation of stockholm’s royal institute of technology in response to his personal experience with an avalanche tragedy.

Scarpa has been the first brand to integrate the recco system in its boots. It has proven a very effective solution and been adopted by an extensive  network of ski resorts, helicopter skiing operations, parks, and search-and-rescue organizations in europe, japan, north and south america.

The recco technology enables rapid directional pinpointing of a victim’s precise location using harmonic radar. The two-part system consists of a recco detector used by professional rescue teams and recco reflectors that are integrated into apparel, helmets, protection gear, and boots.
It is important to challenge yourself and push your limits, but it is as essential as being responsible, by taking some precautionary measures, able to make you feel protected, even with extreme conditions.

Pebax elastomers
Designed for extreme conditions, pebax® elastomers are a premium performance material that has been used for many years in winter sports equipment. They offer a unique combination of high performance properties: sustained flexibility at low temperature, high cold impact resistance, and outstanding energy return.

These elastomers are typically 20% lighter than common materials. They combine a polyamide 12 rigid block (pa12) with a hydrophobic polyether soft chain. Bridging the gap between thermoplastics and rubbers, pebax® materials are an excellent choice for a wide range of high performance applications in sport markets

Intuition
Boasting twenty years of experience, intuition today produces hundreds of thousands boot liners for the most important brands of the world. Its products are worn by skiers, snowboarders, guides and instructors. The intuition liners offer the maximum standards of thermal protection and lightweight performance ensuring the highest technological standards in thermoformable liner for backcountry products. The exclusive thermoformable materials guarantee a durable comfort fit.

Grilamid bio
Grilamid bio® is part of ems-grivory’s complete line of greenline biobased polyamides. This polymer with a high bio content guarantees a significant reduction in co2 emissions while maintaining its main properties of stiffness and elasticity and high impact unaltered. In fact, it derives from the synthesis of castor oil. The castor plant does not compete with food crops for the land and is grown in semi-arid areas (india, china, brazil). It is, therefore, an excellent alternative to polymers derived from fossil sources and is completely recyclable and non-biodegradable.

Gripwalk
Gripwalk soles make ski boots easier to walk in, while keeping superb ski performance and more safety when walking. The boot sole/binding interface does not sacrifice skiing power transmission as well as a precise release, as long as you use an original gripwalk binding or a 100% compatible touring binding which you can identify by the official logo. Unfortunately, conventional alpine bindings without a logo are not compatible.

Ortholite
Ortholite® provides the single most cost effective solution to enhance the comfort, performance, and long term cushioning while creating a cooler drier, healthier environment in every shoe.
