The Volkl Mantra has been our best-selling ski for more winters than we can count, with every generation bringing improvements over earlier versions. So the question every winter is what can Volkl do to make a fantastic ski even better. Many of our friends have Mantras for those days when they just want to blast through anything, the Mantras making short work of variable snow and tricky conditions but requiring a lot of energy. These friends also have other skis for when they want a physically less taxing day, or want to play about a bit more. The 2025 M7 Mantra retains the 96 mm underfoot but with a 139-96-121 mm sidecut has slightly wider tips and tails and moderately faster turnng radii. While the M6 Mantra had 3 turning radii, the M7 Mantra has no less than 4 - an innovation from Völkl that is not yet found in any other model. With this technology, Völkl sets a new benchmark for the ability to vary the turn radius to combine easy handling with rock-solid stability. The result is a ski with increased stability, responsiveness and maneuverability and that's even more versatile, wherever you happen to be skiing.
As you'd expect the M7 Mantra is packed with Volkl's latest design innovations, including the Tailored Titanal Frame for stabilty and Tailored Carbon Tips for immediate responsiveness. By adapting the Titanal components to the various ski lengths and thus to the skier’s proportions, not only can the tip and tail ends be weight-optimised, but the torsional stiffness can also be influenced, thereby improving the ride qualities This design combines the stability of a Titanal ski while also making the Mantra M7 noticeably lighter and more agile to control. The handling characteristics of the Mantra M7 are also enhanced by the tailored carbon tip. The dedicated positioning of the carbon fibres results in a precise tip response and vastly improves the ski’s torsional stiffness.
We were very impressed with the M7 Mantra. It combines the brute power and performance that has given the Mantra it's legendary reputation with a more user friendly and less physically taxing character, making the M7s more fun and playful. The Mantra has been one of our best sellling models for many years and for 2025 is sure to be even more in demand.
Rocker Type: Tip & Tail Rocker – Bends up only in the shovel and tail zones, with a camber shape in the middle. Shape: 4 Radius Drive – A new sidecut with 4 distinct radii where they're most effective. ~20m in the shovel for quick turn initiation, ~40m between shovel and binding for stability at speed, ~15m under the bindings for agility and ~25m behind the bindings for a dynamic finish to your turns Core: Multilayer Woodcore – A combination of beech and poplar results in an extremely durable wood core composed of hard wood in the binding area and lighter wood surrounding it. Tailored Titanal Frame: Volkl's key technology is called Tailored Titanal Frame. In contrast to the previous design, the width of the titanal frame is now adapted exactly to each individual ski length. By adapting the Titanal components according to ski length (and so to the skier’s weight), the torsional stiffness and the swing weight of the tips and tails be optimised, thereby improving the ride qualities. The M6 Mantra combines the familiar stability of a Titanal ski with reduced weight and increased agility. Tailored Carbon Tips: Tailored Carbon Tips are produced by embroidering the individual carbon fibers onto a carrier material. This allows them to be positioned exactly along the stress lines, opening up completely new possibilities, for performance at the front of the ski, which has a decisive influence on handling. Sidewalls: Full Sidewall – Direct and strong power transmission with full length sidewalls. Base: P-Tex 2100 – A sintered high-density and high molecular weight polyethylene base with great gliding characteristics and high durability.
