Kastle skis have always been known for the excellent build quality and technologically advanced designs and the Paragons do not disappoint, supplying new standards in precision, high speed stability and versatility. The Paragon skis have an advanced triple-wood core called InfiniCore with a unique design for the vertical wood stingers. Narrow poplar and dense beech stringers in the centre of the ski provide stability and power transfer, with maximum energy transfer from the bindings to the ski. Moving towards the edges, Kastle have used wider poplar and paulownia stringers. These are lighter, more flexible and provide energy and progressive flex. The Paragon build continues with two titanal layers that extend the length of the ski until the Hollowtech 2.0 tip, the reduced tip weight absorbing vibrations and working with the titanal layers to provide an incredibly stable ride. Shapewise the Paragon skis borrow a lot from the ZX freeride skis, with long tip rocker and a flatter directional tail, but offer vastly superior performance at speed while keeping the playfulness and versatility of the ZX line. The FX skis were pretty chunky and the new build has shed some weight resulting in skis that require less brute input to perform. Weighing in at around 4 kg a pair, they're not light, but not too heavy either. Offering plenty of performance plus more versatility, the Kastle Paragons will please hard charging inbounds skiers.
Built with a mid-fat 135-101-122 mm shape the Paragon 101 is equally at home on piste or exploring the sidecountry for that latest powder dump. Kastle skis are reknowned for their powerful yet calm character and the Paragon 101 showcases this with an added playfulness, resulting in a ski that is just so enjoyable to ski. Highly recommended.
