"My favorite powder shape I've skied to date! the reverse camber makes them turn on a dime and you can really feel the ski working under your feet. in powder the control you have is incredible. with the narrower tip width it makes the swing weight lighter, making butters and spins feel effortless."

Faction's best selling Signature Series Candide skis have been developed by and for Candide Thovex, and if they're good enough for him then they're (probably) good enough for you and us!!
These skis combine freeride and freestyle-inspired features to provide playful backcountry performance that let's you make the most of the whole mountain.

The Candide CT 5.0 brings the original Candide 4.0 back to life, revived and updated. Faction have kept the same ripping sidecut, the same pivot-on-a-dime flat camber and the same fat 122mm waist width as the legendary first ski they developed with Candide. Now built with an updated, light-weight Hybrid Core, smoother rocker curves and Anti-Chip Micro-Cap sidewalls, the new construction revitalizes this classic ski, polishing up the ride and adding extra durability. Available only in one length, 183cm, this is Candide’s ski.

Features:

122mm Waist
Wide waist width designed for deep conditions
Directional Twin
The CT 5 has a narrower tail width than the tip to provide ultimate downhill performance for attacking the mountain. The rockered tail makes these skis more playful, encourages free style attitude and maintains downhill performance.
Hybrid Core
Faction reinforce the super lightweight balsa with robust flax fibres plus poplar strips creating a durable wood core that holds an edge like other skis twice its weight.
Durable Build
Anti-chip Micro-cap and Anti-Scratch topsheet adds extra protection and fresh look.
Multi Dimension Sidecut with Flatspot
This manoeuvrable shape consists of a shorter radius underfoot, keeping the ski nimble on those steep and narrow entries, and longer radii blended out to the tip and tail that ensure a stable and surfy feel when you’re flying out the bottom.
Micro-Cap
With micro-cap, the sandwich construction provides awesome edge hold and torsional stability while the ski’s topsheet wraps around and meets the sidewall, protecting the junction that can be prone to chipping.

Model: Faction Candide 5.0
Lengths: 183 cm
Sidecut: 152-122-140 mm
Radius: 25 m
Weight: 3.80 kg / pair

New for this winter, the Atomic Bent Chetler 120 combines the playful character of it’s ancestor with a new Karuba/Carbon light core and HRZN Tech Tip to make a ski that is clearly focused on the backcountry and rando / powder.
The Bent Chetler 120 is perfect at low speed. Often powder-type skis that are good at low speeds are less so at higher velocities, so it’s a welcome surprise that while we expected this ski to fade at speed, in fact it performs well. You need to remain centered on the ski without applying excessive pressure to the ski tips. In powder and in consistent snow, the Bent Chetler 120 requires a fairly neutral position, which can be a little disconcerting for skiers who like directional skiing that require lots of pressure on the shins, or skiers too loose or lacking technique with a position too far back on the heels. In soft snow, the Bent Chetler is pure delight, and makes you want to make the most of the terrain, exactly why you went in the backcountry! On piste the Bent Chetler 120 grips well and even tracks quite precisely. The only downside is in cut-up crud and variable snow, where the light weight makes these more susceptible and where you’ll need to turn down the speed dial a notch. On the plus side, the low weight of the Bent Chetler 120 lets you hike and tour, which was unthinkable with the old model.
The 2019 Bent Chetler 120 gains in versatility for the backcountry while losing a little rigor in high speed crud. A modern ski designed for the latest trends in backcountry skiing - lightweight, playful and a pleasure to ski, far from the resorts.

Features:

HRZN Tech Tip & Tail

HRZN Tech Tips supplying 10% more surface area for good float in powder.
Carbon Backbone
A dynamic carbon insert for Atomic's lighwteight backcountry skis, Backland FR and Backland.
Light Woodcore
The light woodcore is made using poplar, ideal for powder, all mountain and freeride touring skis that must combine low weight with strength and reliability.
Full Sidewall
The sidewall extends the full length of the ski for precise steering, ideal for high-performing race and piste skis.
Powder Rocker 30/40/30
A long progressive tip, short cambered central section and upswept tail for maximum performance and agility in soft snow.

Features:

Hollowtech:
Key technology is unique to ski manufacturing. By removing unneeded layers in the front of the ski to make the ski lighter. This results in several advantages: the ski becomes up to 30 % damper, the ski feels more stable, edge-grip is more powerful, steering is more precise and the overall weight is reduced. Beginning this year, we are equipping all skis with the larger Hollowtech 2.0 — with the size of each Hollowtech adapted to individual model lines. A larger design for even better performance.
Woodcore:
Each Kästle ski is built with the finest wood core, manufactured with precision to one-tenth of a millimeter. This allows us to control the weight, responsiveness and dampening characteristics of the ski, resulting in a high-quality, durable product. The wood type, or combination of different woods, is individually catered to each model line, based on the ski‘s intended application.
Sandwich-Sidewall construction:
This design gives every Kästle Ski optimal flex and torsional rigidity, creating sensitive and direct power transmission and ensuring total control, even at high speed. For the TX98, the Semi-Cap Sandwich-Sidewall Construction is used, in which the top sheet protects the upper edge of the ski.
Elliptical radius:
Each model is designed to have its own carving characteristics, which is based on the ski’s intended application, by adjusting the radius along the waist of the ski. The shape of the Elliptical Radius determines how quickly and aggressively the ski enters and exits a turn.
Graphite sinter base:
Kästle uses uncompromisingly high-quality UHM Graphite Sintered Bases, these are used in racing. The result: excellent sliding and wax absorption properties in a durable, long lasting base.
Camber:
With Low Camber, the ski center is slightly elevated and the contact points are moved toward the ski center. The effective edge is consequentially less, and the ski is more playful and forgiving.
Shovel and tail:
With the shovel and tail design, Kastle can refine the aggressiveness of skis. The Hook Free Shovel is a longer shovel that is often combined with Early or Progressive Rise. With this design the contact point to the snow is moved toward the center of the ski, thus ensuring a more forgiving and playful performance. The Hook Free Tail is often combined with Dual Rise and a longer tail, with the contact point being moved toward the center of the ski. The result is a forgiving, playful performance when exiting a turn.
Rise:
With Rise technology, Kastle optimizes the shovel of the ski and control its float depending on the ski’s application. Progressive Rise optimizes float and easy turning in freeride and all-mountain freeride conditions. Dual rise technology combined with an adapted Camber profile creates a ski which guarantees the best float, even in the deepest of snow, without losing responsiveness.

Features:

The Scott Scrapper 115 is Scott's signature fat free-ski. The Scrapper 115 won a lot of accolades last season and continues for 2019.
Built with Scott's carbon/wood core construction the Scrapper 115 is powerful and ultra-stable in all snow conditions, yet light and nimble when needed.

Features:

3Dimension Sidecut
This revolutionary sidecut design combines a tip and tail with either a central flat line or a small amount of sidecut under foot.
The tip and tail radii allow for easy turn initiation while the flat line (freeski) or a larger radius (all conditions) provides stability, power and precise edge hold. This power design has earned accolades in the form of Winter X-Games Gold Medals and multiple ski test awards.
3Dimension Sidecut is utilized in two different forms, a centralized flat line for the freestyle and progressive oriented skier or as a large radius under foot for an all condition skier looking for versatile, high-performing ski.
Benefits:
+ Improved edge control and power underfoot
+ Adds stability and predictability to the ski
+ Improved pivot point for a playful ski
Twin-Tip Rocker
Having rocker in both the tip and tail allows for optimal float in deep snow and creates a playful ski, while traditional camber underfott maintains edge hold and stability.
Twin-tip rocker comes in two different sizes: M and L
Sandwich Sidewall Construction
By combining a Paulownia wood core with Carbon stringer laminates, Scott created a super lightweight ski with a great flex and torsional rigidity.

The touring version of the excellent Black Crows Anima, the Anima Freebird weighs 700 g less than it's alpine sibling thanks to the use of a mixed Paulownia/Polar wood core, carbon laminates and slightly thinner steel edges.
Designed for strong tourers, the Anima Freebird has a very reasonable weight / surface ratio so makes skinning surprisingly practical. A great choice for accessing the deepest backcountry powder.

Callum Pettit says:
"If you're into ski touring and skiing powder then this is a great ski for you! its 115 waist makes it versatile in loads of conditions. it's noticeably lighter than the regular anima which makes it a breeze on the up."

Features:

Big Width
115mm underfoot for all lengths
Double Rocker
22% tip and 18% tail rocker for immediate pivots.
Short Classic Camber
Classic camber underfoot with a short ski/snow contact, giving better manoeuvrability.
Extended Sidecut

Faction Dictator 4.0 Ski 2019

Faction Dictator 4.0 Ski 2019

Faction's Dictator 4.0 is the widest ski in their Dictator freeride series and comes with a super generous 139-115-127 mm shape. Built for champagne powder and 50° slopes, the Dictator is a big mountain ski for fresh snow conditions. As solid as it is wide, the Dictator 4.0 comes packed with Dual Titanal Layers, a light yet strong poplar/paulownia fusion lite wood core, extended rocker and trimmed taper. The Dictator floats through fresh snow and crud like a boss, never flustered and taking control in all conditions.

Built for champagne powder and 50° slopes, the Dictator is a big mountain ski for fresh snow conditions. The Dictator floats through fresh snow and crud like a boss, never flustered and taking control in all conditions. Dual radius sidecut and surf zone technology makes sure that these skis don't hook up at high speed, your turn in control and your speed fast.
The 115mm waist width gives you a boatful of float in the deep and chopped up snow as well as a whole load of landing gear when you decide to send it.
Not a ski for every day, but te ski that you need to make the most of ideal powder conditions!!

Features:

Dual Radius Sidecut
In front of the binding, a shorter radius sidecut provides quick response and control for tighter turns while a longer radius in the tail keeps you stable, feeling solid when you’re charging.
The result is a ski that surfs seamlessly between different turn angles and never drags.
Fusion Light Core
A blend of poplar and paulownia results in a lightweight core with excellent responsiveness and rebound, complimenting and offsetting the two full layers of Titanal metal that Faction sandwich on either side of it.
Dual Titanal
Titanal is isotropic, meaning that it is equally strong in all directions. This means that the ski loves being on an edge, blasts through bumps and feels stable even in changeable snow, making it the perfect chassis for a holy grail, hard-charging freeride ski.
Surf Zones
Surf Zone tech unites Rocker and Tip Taper design to make sure these two key features work in harmony.
Rocker provides float and facilitates pivoting, while a Tapered Tip moves the widest part of the ski closer to the centre and removes unwanted hooking.
Freeride Flat Tail
Traditional flat tail design is built for speed, ultimate edge grip and control throughout charging turns. Brought into the modern day with a slight tail rocker, this shape is easier than ever to slash your turn into a slarve and won’t hook up in fresh conditions.

Volkl Katana V-Werks Ski 2019

Volkl have been at the forefront of freeride ski development since the beginning and have produced legendary skis such as the Mantra, the Gotama (who can forget those Buddha decals?) and of course the Katana. The Katana stands out for it's performance in deep snow and for several years has been the "go-to" ski for several of Völkl‘s pro big mountain riders.
For 2019 the Katana V.Werks benefits from the new 3D.Ridge construction and a Full Carbon Jacket construction and an ICE-OFF top sheet. Very light for a ski with a sidecut of 143-112-132 mm, the 184 cm length weighs in at only 3.76 kg a pair. This, combined with the full rocker, makes these skis incredibly maneuverable and versatile.

The Katana V.Werks is Völkl's signature fat freeride ski and showcases Volkl's tecnical prowess.
V.Werks by Volkl: Engineered and handcrafted in Straubing, "Made in Germany"!

Features:

V.Werks

V.Werks demonstrates the possibilities of state of the art technology. This custom line focuses on revolutionary designs that trim every possible gram, which results in the exclusive use of expensive materials like carbon, aramid and titanium. Trailblazing engineering and cutting-edge production methods together result in an extremely lightweight ski brimming with world-class performance capabilities without sacrificing even a hint of stability or durability. The construction and ultra-flat design translates into a fantastic edge grip and lightning-fast responsiveness, so there are absolutely no limits placed on highly athletic, varied skiing.
Multilayer Woodcore
The combination of beech and poplar results in an extremely durable wood core composed of hard wood in the binding area and lighter wood around.
3D.Ridge Carbon
Central Woodcore Ridge with superslim wings to significantly reduce weight and swing weight and keep the stability where necessary. Combined with Full Carbon Jacket for Stability.
Ice.Off Topsheet
Topsheet technology to reduce the weight of the ski when skiing and hiking. Will reduce the snow attachment to the ski at an average of 20% to 30%.
The next step in effective weight reduction. ICE.OFF stands for the latest topsheet technology on our touring skis. The unique surface structure and material composition reduces icing as the snow simply slides off the topsheet. This leads to a drastic reduction of weight in use, on average up to 20% to 30%. In addition, mainly white graphics support the anti-icing effect. Lighter skis prevent fatigue, especially on long and steep uphill sections.
Skin Pin
100% secure and custom-fit connection of skin to ski.
Moderate Taper
Moderate setup of tapered tips for an allmountain oriented combination of precision on piste and easy handling off piste.
Full Crabon Jacket
Material layup for direct transmission and high reliability/stability at the lighest possible weight.
Center Sidewall
Direct and strong powertransmission with partial sidewalls in the center of the ski, combined with the superslim 3D.Ridge construction.
Base P-Tex 4500
A sintered, ultra-high molecular polyethylene base with an extremely high density. Besides a great wear resistance and perfect wax absorption the P-Tex 4504 is extremely fast and exclusively used on our top of the line and race models. The material has been upgraded with special additives to make it thermal and electro-conductive and proves its qualities with premium glide and maximum speed in races.

Available in two lengths, 176 and 184 cm, the Bakan has a long progressive double rocker to provide a stable, tolerant unsinkable ride in the deepest powder, letting you concentrate on the skiing.
For mixed snow and less than ideal conditions the Bakan has camber underfoot to provide stability and edge grip.
Zag could make the Bakan so light by using a paulownia wood core with a new mix of glass and carbon fibers that provide superb torsional rigidity even for a ski this wide. To ensure durability in backcountry conditions Zag have used ABS sidewalls. Zag have been able to reduce the weight of the paulownia wood core for 2019 to make the new Bakan an even better backcountry powder tool.

Looking to ski powder in the remote backcountry? The Bakan is light enough to get you there and wide enough to make the most of the deepest off piste conditions and the most beautiful descents.

With more than enough ability waiting to be unleashed, it’s no wonder the Faction Prodigy 4.0 is Johnny Collinson’s favourite everyday weapon of choice.

Features:

112 mm waist
Wide waist designed for versatile, everyday use in fresh snow and variable conditions.
Directional Twin
A considerably skinnier tail width than in the tip provides ultimate downhill performance for attacking the mountain. A twin tip in the tail encourages playfulness and freestyle attitude, meaning you can ride switch without problem.
Surf Zones: Rocker and taper designed together for a smooth and surfy ride in all conditions.
Poplar/Ash Core
Ash is a heavier hardwood, that compliments poplar by stiffening up the ride and adding some extra durability. This combination provides a chatter-free hold on hard snow, a solid base for stomping landings and more than enough pop and flex to get creative with.
Flax Fibres
An innovative, biaxial layup of Flax Fibres ensure excellent dampening characteristics adding all the stiffness and torsional stability you could want from your eco-friendly landing gear, and more.
Micro Cap
With micro-cap, the sandwich construction provides awesome edge hold and torsional stability while the ski’s topsheet wraps around and meets the sidewall, protecting the fragile join that can be prone to chipping.
Surf Zones
Surf Zone tech unites Rocker and Tip Taper design to make sure these two key features work in harmony. Rocker provides float and facilitates pivoting, while a Tapered Tip moves the widest part of the ski closer to the centre and removes unwanted hooking.
