Voile have gained a loyal following in the backcountry world with their light, wide yet torsionally rigid skis. Many AT ski brands are now making similar skis, but Voile's stand out for their commitment to making wide skis that tour.

Voile Objective Ski
The Objective is a little different, a ski with a narrower "European" style shape with a 82 mm waist (171 cm) that is ideal for all mountain touring, for east coast US where the snow is more often compacted.
Wider than the pure Skimo race skis the WSP and WSG, but narrower than the UltraVector, this ski will please "traditional" European tourers who prefer a lightweight narrow ski.

Fast up and fast down, the Objective is light enough to go the distance and stiff enough to hold an edge on boilerplate.
Weighing in a only 2.10 kg a pair (171 cm) the Objective is designed for fast ascents and long-distance travel. It is also an excellent choice for skimo fitness training.

Key technology is unique to ski manufacturing. By removing unneeded layers in the front of the ski to make the ski lighter. This results in several advantages: the ski becomes up to 30 % damper, the ski feels more stable, edge-grip is more powerful, steering is more precise and the overall weight is reduced. Beginning this year, we are equipping all skis with the larger Hollowtech 2.0 — with the size of each Hollowtech adapted to individual model lines. A larger design for even better performance.
Woodcore:
Each Kästle ski is built with the finest wood core, manufactured with precision to one-tenth of a millimeter. This allows us to control the weight, responsiveness and dampening characteristics of the ski, resulting in a high-quality, durable product. The wood type, or combination of different woods, is individually catered to each model line, based on the ski‘s intended application.
Sandwich-Sidewall construction:
This design gives every Kästle Ski optimal flex and torsional rigidity, creating sensitive and direct power transmission and ensuring total control, even at high speed. For the TX98, the Semi-Cap Sandwich-Sidewall Construction is used, in which the top sheet protects the upper edge of the ski.
Elliptical radius:
Each model is designed to have its own carving characteristics, which is based on the ski’s intended application, by adjusting the radius along the waist of the ski. The shape of the Elliptical Radius determines how quickly and aggressively the ski enters and exits a turn.
Graphite sinter base:
Kästle uses uncompromisingly high-quality UHM Graphite Sintered Bases, these are used in racing. The result: excellent sliding and wax absorption properties in a durable, long lasting base.
Camber:
With Low Camber, the ski center is slightly elevated and the contact points are moved toward the ski center. The effective edge is consequentially less, and the ski is more playful and forgiving.
Shovel and tail:
With the shovel and tail design, Kastle can refine the aggressiveness of skis. The Hook Free Shovel is a longer shovel that is often combined with Early or Progressive Rise. With this design the contact point to the snow is moved toward the center of the ski, thus ensuring a more forgiving and playful performance. The Hook Free Tail is often combined with Dual Rise and a longer tail, with the contact point being moved toward the center of the ski. The result is a forgiving, playful performance when exiting a turn.
Rise:
With Rise technology, Kastle optimizes the shovel of the ski and control its float depending on the ski’s application. Progressive Rise optimizes float and easy turning in freeride and all-mountain freeride conditions. Dual rise technology combined with an adapted Camber profile creates a ski which guarantees the best float, even in the deepest of snow, without losing responsiveness.

The Dictator floats through fresh snow and crud like a boss, never flustered and taking control in all conditions. Dual radius sidecut and surf zone technology makes sure that these skis don't hook up at high speed, your turn in control and your speed fast.
The 115mm waist width gives you a boatful of float in the deep and chopped up snow as well as a whole load of landing gear when you decide to send it.
Not a ski for every day, but te ski that you need to make the most of ideal powder conditions!!

Features:

Dual Radius Sidecut
In front of the binding, a shorter radius sidecut provides quick response and control for tighter turns while a longer radius in the tail keeps you stable, feeling solid when you’re charging.
The result is a ski that surfs seamlessly between different turn angles and never drags.
Fusion Light Core
A blend of poplar and paulownia results in a lightweight core with excellent responsiveness and rebound, complimenting and offsetting the two full layers of Titanal metal that Faction sandwich on either side of it.
Dual Titanal
Titanal is isotropic, meaning that it is equally strong in all directions. This means that the ski loves being on an edge, blasts through bumps and feels stable even in changeable snow, making it the perfect chassis for a holy grail, hard-charging freeride ski.
Surf Zones
Surf Zone tech unites Rocker and Tip Taper design to make sure these two key features work in harmony.
Rocker provides float and facilitates pivoting, while a Tapered Tip moves the widest part of the ski closer to the centre and removes unwanted hooking.
Freeride Flat Tail
Traditional flat tail design is built for speed, ultimate edge grip and control throughout charging turns. Brought into the modern day with a slight tail rocker, this shape is easier than ever to slash your turn into a slarve and won’t hook up in fresh conditions.

Black Crows have taken a big risk for 2019 by updating their classic ski, the Corvus.
For this season Black Crows have completely updated the shape of the Corvus while keeping the same objective - the Corvus is a hard-charging Big Mountain ski.
Built with a flat camber and double titanal plates, the new Corvus is stiffer than the previous version, and requires more assertive skiing while in return the new flat camber allows the ski to pivot faster.
The new Corvus combines higher performance in difficult snow conditions and excellent grip on hardpack as well as faster pivoting in soft snow.
Aggressive skiers who like using the rebound at the end of the turn will find the new Corvus more neutral. This new design with the flat camber, titanal reinforcements and low rocker works very well and is superbly effective, with increased acceleration than the previous model while requiring slightly more attention when putting the flat camber on the edges. Skiers who liked the Volkl Katana and Blizzard Bodacious will enjoy the new Corvus.
Built for hard charging big mountain skiers, the Corvus offers even higher performance in all snow conditions.

Camille Jaccoux says:
"The corvus satisfies our quest for an equilibrium between authenticity and modernity. we've found that balance with a ski which combines a super-reactive pivot and an infallible alpine spirit."

Features:

Reverse camber, flat surface in the middle of the ski:
Plenty of pivot + very powerful grip.
Double titanal plates:
stability + precision
21m radius sidecut:
an attacker’s soul.
Solid flex underfoot then progressively less so towards tip and tail:
comfortable and effective.
Semi cap construction.
Poplar core.
120cm double titanal plates.

Features:

3Dimension Sidecut
This revolutionary sidecut design combines a tip and tail with either a central flat line or a small amount of sidecut under foot.
The tip and tail radii allow for easy turn initiation while the flat line (freeski) or a larger radius (all conditions) provides stability, power and precise edge hold. This power design has earned accolades in the form of Winter X-Games Gold Medals and multiple ski test awards.
3Dimension Sidecut is utilized in two different forms, a centralized flat line for the freestyle and progressive oriented skier or as a large radius under foot for an all condition skier looking for versatile, high-performing ski.
Benefits:
+ Improved edge control and power underfoot
+ Adds stability and predictability to the ski
+ Improved pivot point for a playful ski
Twin-Tip Rocker M
Having rocker in both the tip and tail allows for optimal float in deep snow and creates a playful ski, while traditional camber underfott maintains edge hold and stability.
Twin-tip rocker comes in two different sizes: M and L

Built with Volkl's 3D.Ridge construction which reduces weight and at the same time improves stability and smoothness, the 90Eight is an all-mountain ski that handles anything from bumps, to trees, to groomers, and even powder and crud.
The 90Eight pivots right away thanks to the tip & tail rocker while the full sidewall transmits power directly and reliably however fast you are skiing the hardpack.
A good choice for strong skiers wanting an all mountain ski with more emphasis offpiste than the Kendo, the 90Eight has moderate taper and a precision-matched flex that allows you to steer these skis anywhere you want.

Features:

3D.Glass
3D.GLASS is Völkl’s latest development to furthermore improve overall ski performance and stability even in critical snow conditions.
Multilayer Woodcore
The combination of beech and poplar results in an extremely durable wood core composed of hard wood in the binding area and lighter wood around.
3D.Ridge
Central Woodcore Ridge with superslim wings to significantly reduce weight and swing weight and keep the stability where necessary.
Our 3D.Ridge technology - is probably the most extreme and effective construction technique that currently exists. It has become a symbol of VÖLKL lightweight construction.
The distinctive characteristic of this technology is a raised central ridge that sharply levels out towards the edges, both in front of and behind the binding. This reduces the inertial mass around the fulcrum to a minimum and significantly enhances the agility of the ski. At the same time, the center ridge allows for a precise dimensioning of the hardness distribution, which leads to an especially harmonious flex on the ski. Despite the weight savings, the 3D.Ridge ensures that there are no compromises in the ski‘s durability and elasticity.
Carbon Stringers
Additional band of carbon in the layup for direct transmission, agility and life.
Full Sidewall
Direct and strong power transmission with full length sidewalls.
Moderate Taper
Moderate setup of tapered tips for an allmountain oriented combination of precision on piste and easy handling off piste.
Base P-Tex 2100
A sintered high-density and high molecular polyethylene base with great gliding characteristics and high durability.

Faction Prime 2.0 Ski 2019

Faction Prime 2.0 Ski 2019

Designed for skiing both inbounds and outbounds, Faction's Prime series skis are high-end freeride skis for advanced and expert skiers.
Designed for skiing both inbounds and outbounds, Faction's Prime series skis are high-end freeride skis for advanced and expert skiers.
Engineered in the pursuit of excellence, the Faction Prime 2.0 excels all over the mountain. Featherweight due to its super-lightweight hybrid core, the 98mm underfoot Prime 2.0 boasts a whole load of torsional stability thanks to the innovative use of the proprietary weave textreme carbon, meaning the ski grips even in the hardest and iciest of conditions. A multi dimensional sidecut and extended tip and tail rocker gives the Prime 2.0 its dynamism, making it fun to carve on piste, nimble and manoeuvrable in those tight, no-fall-zone couloir entries, and exhilarating when you’re arcing out of the glacial bowl below. A titanal plate underfoot ensures the best possible reliability for your bindings when you decide to set off on your next touring adventure.
Lightweight and exceptionally stable, the Faction Prime 2.0 is the dynamic freeride and touring champion.

Features:

Extended Tip/Tail Rocker

Faction's Extended Rocker has a reverse camber shape in the tip and tails, which along with waist width, is the most important element in providing float in fresh snow.
Extended rocker also makes pivoting and turn initiation easier and means you have less chance of catching an edge.
Hybrid Core
Faction reinforce the super lightweight Balsa with robust Flax fibres plus Poplar strips creating a durable wood core that holds an edge like other skis twice its weight.
Textreme Carbon
Used in state of the art aeronautical engineering and deployed as a full layer of laminate in our skis. The weave is made up of thin strips that are resistant to even the smallest cracks and fissures - thinner, lighter and stronger than regular carbon.
Multi Dimension Sidecut
This manoeuvrable shape consists of a shorter radius underfoot, keeping the ski nimble on those steep and narrow entries, and longer radii blended out to the tip and tail that ensure a stable and surfy feel when you’re flying out the bottom.
Progressive Flat Tail
Stable to ski at high speeds, playful and easy to initiate turns at lower speeds – this shape exceeds expectations.
