Crispi's Svartisen is named after the twin glacier system in Northern Norway. This glacier system contains two glaciers, the Vestre Svartisen and the astre Svartisen. These two are the 2nd and 4th largest in Norway.
The Crispi Svartisen nordic touring boot is built for use in rugged remote areas and gives good control thanks to the combination of laces plus two buckles. The one piece goretex-lined leather upper is reinforced with an articulated plastic cuff. This can be let loose on the flat, then tightened down for the descent with the upper buckle. Crispi call this cuff system the Crispi CSF technology and it does help give more support to the leather boot.
Like the glacier after which it is named, there are two versions of the Crispi Svartisen. Depending upon which binding system you will be using these boots are available with either a 75 mm Vibram telemark sole or a NNN BC sole. The Svartisen BC has a Rottefella NNN BC sole for use with Rottefella / Fischer / Rossignol NNN BC standard bindings.
