ATK have won a lot of fans with their well designed ski brake mechanism that uses a small metal button on the side of the baseplate to lock and release the ski brakes. The brake pad features a laterally sliding anti-friction plate to ensure that lateral release values are respected.
By separating the ski brake retaining mechanism from the base of the heel tour, ATK can produce bindings with superior lateral rigidity.
