X-Petzl Zyper Y

A revolution in the world of via ferratas, the Zyper-Y is a Double lanyard with an effective energy absorption system.

Features:
A fall down the length of a cable could easily reach 20 kN, but thanks to the slippage of the rope in the metal part that is attached to the harness, the Zyper-Y reduces the impact force to a maximum of 6 kN (for a factor 5 fall).
The Zyper-Y may be used with non-locking carabiners, if this is the case, you have to keep the gates in opposite positions when they run on the cable. (Zyper-Y is also available with two type K Petzl Vertigo carabiners.)
The Zyper-Y is attached to the harness with a locking carabiner, a maillon rapide, or by tying in with a rope.
