Marker Duke 16 11/12

More and more skiers are using the "Side Country" and more and more true back country skiers are using fat skis for maximum offpiste performance. If you fit into either of these categories then Marker's Duke is for you.
The Duke is the first touring binding with a release range of 6-16 DIN. Designed for skis with a waist of at least 74 mm (and preferably much more) the Power Width Design gives a binding-ski contact 10 mm wider than traditional piste bindings for direct power transfer.
Changing between Uphill and Ride modes is simple, just a question of moving the central BCT "Back Country Technology" lever through 180°. In Uphill mode the bindings are moved 40 mm backwards on the skis, for more efficient skinning. The binding pivots just in front of the boot toe. Moving the lever back to Ride mode moves the bindings back forward and locks the heel under the rear sub-plate.
The toepiece is height adjustable - the ant-friction plate moves up and down a ramp to allow height adjustment. The heel unit has Marker's Triple Pivot Elite vertical release.
Please note that changing between modes does require removing the boot from the binding. The metal climbing bar sits underneath the heel unit and offers a single height climbing position of 55 mm.
The Duke comes with 110 mm ski brakes as standard. 130 mm brakes and crampons are available as optional extras.
