Edelrid Cable Kit 3.0

With the Cable Kit, Edelrid sets new standards of safety. The difference compared to standard Via Ferrata sets is that the elasticized carabiner ends and the zipped shock absorber form a closed frictionless braking system which will function even when wet. In the event of a fall the absorbers perform a controlled tear while absorbing the shock. Even in the case of a 180-degree misuse (whereby one carabiner end is attached to a safety relevant part of the harness) the system will brake the ensuing force. For 2011 system is fitted with the patented one-touch carabiner. The patented opening mechanism opens easily just by pushing on the spine and prevents fingers getting stuck between gate and steel cable, and the flat laser-formed design prevents the carabiner from breaking in a side load situation. The Cable Kit represents “state of the art” with its small size, light weight and compactness. Complies with the EN standard 958 and UIAA standard 128.
